I photographed an amazing wedding at the Montage Resort & Spa last week.

Working with the White Lilac, Details Details & The Montage is always a pleasure. But the real stars of the show were the Bride & Groom Gracie & Kyle. They were amazing! Its always so much fun to watch two people have so much fun at their own wedding. Something that always keeps me going from picture to picture. I love what I do.

When I have a free day, I utilize.

Sunday morning, Harly picks Audrey & I up at an early 7am. (That was the hardest part of the whole day) We cruise over & pick up some of Harly’s close friends Seth & Jen.

When we reached Lake Silverwood, we met an old Highschool friend of Harly’s; Jim. He had been at the lake since 5am waiting in line to launch his boat. Glad he did & we were able to reap the benefits. The result? All day on the lake, loud music,great company, hundreds of beverages & an abundance of good snacks (Harly, Jen & Seth nailed the snacks) wakeboarding (much different from waterboarding Richard). Some great stories from Jim about being a marine & a police officer. Some wild tricks on the tube & about 15 minutes of stunts in the speedboat made for a memorable day.

Now I need to put some icy hot on & get back to work.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Harly & Cee over the past year. I love their energy, their charisma for life and their love for people around them. Their wedding day was filled with all of that. So much emotion, beauty, great moods, a laid back not stressed bride & groom always generates some amazing photos.

Fathers Day 2010, the last night with my nephews and Brother. Took the surf boards out to Seal beach an hour before sunset and did what us boys do best… ignore the garbage in the water, ignore the wind and search for that special something…in this case waves and a sunset to back us up with.

The very next morning Sonora, Daniel & kids would pack their bags, hop on a 747 and point towards Spain and eventually Morocco. So this was a symbolic & amazing time with my nephews.

Stephanie & Brandon planned an amazing, extravagant and perfect wedding weekend.

Beautiful weather, location,guests and setting helped make their wedding so much fun to document.

Ira Lippke was the primary photographer and I 2nd shot for him,(iralippkestudios.com) he has some amazing shots of the couple out by the cliff overlooking the ocean. I was mainly documenting the guests, details and location.

Loved this wedding & the people I met, a great group of people.

Last week I photographed Sheena Loza for her promo packet. I love this shoot. More to come. Its Sunday & I’m off to a few BBQ’s. Posting more tomorrow!

Roy Marx is coming out with a music Album. This shoot we did is going to be used for promo,CD cover & website stuff.

I pushed the edge to a gritty, dark but strong male feeling. I’ll tell you how to get ahold of his music when his Album releases.

After an Engagement shoot on thursday night, Audrey & I drove up north 4.5 hours to a town called Cayucos. We were meeting up with good friends of ours (& Audrey’s employers). A perfect weekend set up for relaxing, visiting wineries, kayaking,playing on the beach, sitting around a campfire, BBQing and exploring antique shops. It was perfect. Huge thanks to the Ingram family for letting me come along on their family getaway. I love adopting friends into my family.

Gracie & Kyle flew in from Colorado for some important meetings and on the list of things to do was shoot Engagement Photos with me!

The theme of this shoot for me was “Summer Luxury” capturing the beauty in the subjects, location and available lighting. I wanted to capture a feeling of the Amalfi coast, french Riviera/ Hamptons kind of feel. I love what came out of it!

Such a great couple, fun lively, easy to laugh with and just overall two great human beings. Photographing their wedding is something I’m looking forward too.

Its not often that I get to do a family shoot, but when I do, I love it!

This family in particular has 2 daughters, ages 16 & 7. The chemistry between the girls, the roll that each kid plays in the family dynamic is fun and entertaining.

Ryan & Melissa have the laid-back, fun and young point of view on parenting. I enjoyed getting to know each of them during our evening shoot in South Orange County.

Paris and Kevin flew into town to take these photos with me. We decided on a few locations and they meshed perfectly with the style we were going for.

It’s hard to take a bad picture when a couple is in love and it shows. I’m excited to photograph their wedding and I’m excited to continue to get to know these two.

Last weekend was spent relaxing in the warmth of Palm Desert with the Ingram Family, playing in the pool, a round of golf, BBQ’ing and just enjoying the weekend.

Preparations were at The London Hotel in West Hollywood, St. Brendans for the ceremony and Terranea Resort in Palos Verde for the Reception. I spent my Sunday afternoon weaving through crowds of sweaty men & half dressed women, getting beer spilled on me and standing on tall grand stands to get these images. I’m sure not a lot of my readers are big race fans, so hopefully you can appreciate other aspects of these photos. Here is the link to the column on LBpost.com >HERE<

(I know its bad to hope for a crash, but I couldn’t help it. Especially when the photographer next to me kept telling me his escape plan incase of a crash, I wish that guy escaped before I had to stand next to him)

My sister Glory just got married this last weekend. A friend of mine and talented photographer Matthew Land was the main shooter for the day. Ira and I did a private shoot with Glory & her new husband Drew.

Scouting the area for a good place to shoot was part of the adventure. I wore mammoth boots to tredge around the woods looking for perfect spots, glad I did, more then once I was ingulfed in mud and stinging nettle.

These images are ones that I shot of Glory & Drew. I’m looking forward to seeing Ira’s images as well as the images Matt took from the entire wedding day.

Cee & Harly’s engagement shoot is up!

We started at the Getty Art musuem in North LA, before heading to the Malibu Pier, grabbing dinner in Downtown and then taking some images at The Nikon center.

Such a great shoot, an amazing couple and now you get to see some of the pictures!

I’m really looking forward to their summer wedding & then flying to Thailand with them for their Thai wedding. Can’t wait!

I took the photo that they used as a graphic and then they added their design.I’m actually not a big fan of it… so maybe I shouldn’t even be showing you. Oh well. It exsists, here’s my recognition.  Pretty sure Howe is a little (3 years) behind on the whole 80′s thing. We (myself included) have moved on…to the 90′s. Wish I could help them out.

The other half of the Salton Sea trip is spent exploring & getting inspired to do something big… like swing off something, or have playing “Feats of Strength”.

This year a new (to us) burger joint was discovered… $2 beers, nice locals and a great old town kind of venue for some hearty burgers and newly defrosted fries.

Salvation Mountain is a must and much like a mecca for hundreds of college students, hippies, adventurists- The night is then spent back at the campsite telling stories, making hobo stew and laughing together until the larger hours of the morning… although this year the wind picked up so much that it chased many of us to our tents early.

Such a good trip and always necessary this time of year.

This weekend was spent relaxing in a desolate cursed land in California’s Colorado desert. This is the kind of place you come to when you want adventure, danger, campfires, target practice with bows, sketchy burger joints, quality time with your closest friends and some gritty sand particles in your hair. The Salton Sea is 34 miles long and has remnants of what used to be a very booming vegas-esque vacation town (Frank Sinatra often visit the Salton Sea back in the day).

This trip has become an annual tradition among friends. Headed up by husband & wife duo Eric & Heather Trine. Whoever ends up coming on this trip is sure to get their money’s worth.

Per usual, I’ll use my pictures (And some Michelle took w/my camera) to tell the story of our trip.

Crystal is a teacher and Drama instructor, she needed some new headshots, something to put inside a playbill, or business card, a set of images to use for her website and professional career. We nailed the shots she needed and I continued to get a few images that I really wanted (and she didn’t complain) Here are a few of my favorite images from our shoot!

Sidenote: I met Crystal originally from one of Justin Rudd’s events. We were both judging a Bulldog Beauty pageant. Talk about random?

(I didn’t realize this before, but all of my favorite images have sun flare in it…hmmm interesting.)

I photographed Wayne & Erin in a few selective spots in Santa Barbara. We got perfect weather and a great sunset to work with. It was good getting to know this couple, finding their best angles, hearing their humor & interactions with each other. Their Fall wedding should be a wild one! I was able to have dinner with them afterwards, sip some cocktails and talk about upcoming wedding plans, hopes & dreams for the future and what kind of fruit is best to mix with cachaca for Caipirinha‘s the brazilian cocktail.
